What's new

Mountain Yak - 2021 Leadfoot 402a

I spoke to them about it. They were interested in getting a tremor and installing it (freebie) but that means I would need to go to California and I'm pretty sure they don't like yeti, there.

They mentioned dropping it from a 3 inch lift to a 1.5 but I think they are still reading the same stuff we are and don't realize the difference is only 5/8". It's adjustable on the truck so I'll mess with it a bit to see what works best. In theory, I'll gain about 1 inch of wheel travel, up front.
I don’t fit in very well there either :ROFLMAO:

I’m really curious to hear how these ride, thanks for Guinea Pigging it Yeti! Also, where are you in the hunt for a hidden winch? I’ve been unsuccessful so far.

I think someone at capital one shopping likes me. This time, 30% back so I had to buy

This isn't going to be my suspension end game but with the Fox 2.5" DSC, I'll need to have them rebuilt

Y’all don’t forget to tag me when you find a winch mount

Why would you need to have them rebuilt every other winter? Haven't had aftermarket lift before so sorry if it's an obvious question lol.

It's just a thing to expect from a "performance" shock that's pushed hard. Fox recommends ~20K miles based on my use.

No response from swarfworks.

I'm going to make this statement, first.
The following use case is mine. If you don't like what I have to say, build your own use case measure for it and I'll support your stuff for you. Now that is out of the way....
** Cooper STT Pros 35X12.5 doesn't work if you want full articulation and look a bit too big for what's there.
There are "35X12.5" that are not true to size and may therefore work. I'll be tryihng the G003s next weekend.
35X11.5 (285X75R18) will work @ ET 20-ET34 (stock)

I finally got the chance to measure tire and wheel fitment.
18X9 ET 20 - Fuel Rebel
18X8.5 ET 6 - Black Rhino Dugger (I wish this was ~ET28) * too far out
18X8.5 ET 28 - custom cut wheel. This was perfect w 35X12.5" tire @ 10.0 tread width (KM3) ** $850/wheel
tires used Cooper STT Pro - 305/70R18 - with full articulation varied PSI and BFG KM3

Largest recommended for full use
Max 35" @ 11.3" section @ 9.8" tread width @ ET20-ET28
Required for 35x12.5 (absolute)
Minimum 3.92" lift @ 8.2" front wheel travel with Fox type thick collar- a longer stroke/spring (shorter collar) config similar to Eibach will require larger lift.

The below are on a stock front end, they all touched in less than 2" compression - a 2" lift@full compression will touch/rub. Total compression from norm was <4". Total droop right at 4"

Negative they are prepped for the sensors and actually have the kit to move them.

Interesting. That bumper is not to my taste at all but good to know there are options out there. I'm still on the hunt for a hidden winch bracket.

So far the ADD bumper is my fallback. I like the Honey Badger better but it doesn't have a winch mount option. So far, everything I've seen will require the intercooler to be relocated/replaced and moved to the upper grill.

I should have taken a picture of it but the front camera view was hillarious with the larger tires on. in looking at the 360 and front views, when I turned the wheel from straight, this massive chunk of tire appeared in the view. I'm guessing that's from the tire being too far out to allow the cemera an unobstructed view. Think monster truck tires on our trucks.

I agree on the honey badger looking better but I wonder if you contacted them if they could make it work.

you would think at that price, each piece is custom crafted for our needs.

Lot of structural and materials changes required to mount and stand up to the force of a winch. Can't really "make it work" so much as it would require a redesign.
