What's new

Mountain Yak - 2021 Leadfoot 402a

I have yet to be able to find any definitive markers on a hidden winch setup. Add me to the ranks of ready to buy when identified!

I love that satin look. I wonder what it would look like over Iconic Silver

Or, I'll buy another if you crowd fund it, for me. Lol

Sent another message to swarfworks, today. I mentioned we had 4 people ready to buy and others interested. hopefully that wasn't a stretch..
I'm interested but it might be awhile yet.

Suspension travel measurements: Unweighted, center of hub to bottom of fender.

Front - ride height: 23"
Front - full droop: 26.25"
Rear - ride height: 27"
Rear - full droop: 32 1/2"

With Eibach Pro 2.0 Truck lift up front (set at max lift)
Front - ride height: 24.5"
Front - full droop: 26.5"
Rear - ride height: 26 5/8"

The length of the Eibach (set at max height) is about 1/4 inch longer total length than the OE struts. the springs are Eiback linear race springs. With as much compression (preload) those springs are under, it's super bouncy. I'm not sure that they have a droop limiter or not but I believe a sudden drop to full extension wouldn't end well for the shock. To me, it seems the Eibach spring is not aggressive enough to successfully dampen that spring with that much preload on it.

Basically, my dental insurance told me I was not covered for fillings rattled out of my melon while using thigs setup.

I'll get with the Eiback guys, tomorrow. I'm going to recommend a 2" longer shock body with the same spring or slightly longer with the perch being 1 inch longer at most.

I have an email in to Deaver to see what they can come up with. I'm hoping something simple like an HD +2. reduce the rake, reduce the towing sag, have all the traction, don't hammer my kidneys.

I'm giving Filthy Motorsports a call tomorrow to see if they can get the 2021 F150 SPC UCA. I want at least 4" of droop

regarding the swarfworks winch mount - we'd still need to do an intercooler relocate, correct?

Yup. They sell the Cobb at a reasonable price so I'm planning on going with them for it, too.

@Yeti, trying to get educated so a few questions:
Cobb intercooler seems very nice, why do you like it over its competition such as Wagner Tuning, CVF....?
With an intercooler relocation, do we have to do something with the active grill shutters (if they're on the Tremor)?
Will the SPC UCAs require a different wheel backspacing than the stock UCAs? Guessing the SPC UCAs or other aftermarket options will need more room to articulate than stock.

Thanks!

While I'm an AFe guy, Cobb and Full Race make very good intercoolers and have them in black. Otherwise, it's all about the flow, for me but I don't expect to get the truck retuned. It looks like we will need to cut/remove the majority (all) of the shutters for the relocation (upper) and definitely the winch (lower).

For the UCAs, I don't have an answer for that but would guess that you're right with the width of the arm. I'll still run my stocks while towing but my Fuel Rebels should have enough offset (+20) to keep everything happy.

Got word back from Deavers - "I do not have specs on the tremor yet, when one of these trucks comes in the shop I will spec it out. We will have to circle back later" effectively, pound sand.
Bilstein - fuck-off and talk to a dealer.
I gave Eibach some more information and will keep everyone updated to how that goes. It's been a bit cold to bust my knuckles on replacing the front struts so that'll have to wait.
Filthy Motorsports - regarding the SPC UCAs (and general build) ~'We're smoked but will have our main tech get back with you ASAP' Utah is close enough for me to make a trip out for a few days.

The woes of buying the first model year of a vehicle. Watching y'all try to find aftermarket parts and the Gen 3 Raptor guys deal with bugs and crazy ADMs are making my strategy of buying 2-3 years into a model more solidified.

Don't pretend you don't love figuring stuff out and wasting $$$ doing it.

Haha...fair enough. I just like it when there are actually parts to waste the money on!

I normally don't buy first model year but I made an exception because my WIFE liked it, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. 😂

Haha...I'm not sure if you know, but I had a Tremor ordered on the day the banks first opened. I ended up backing out, but was very close to taking the plunge myself. The dealer even sent me pics once it arrived to to to entice me back into it.
