New Tremor deliveries, missing features?

You know the more I keep reading, the more upset I get. I didn’t really know about missing features. I didn’t even know about Tremors to be honest. I had a ‘18 Lariat that I was happy with but I drove by my local dealer one day and saw an avalanche Tremor and it caught my eye. A lot of trucks from all the makers catch my eyes these days, makers are doing great things with trucks right now, but this one caught my eye more so than others have the past couple of years. I stopped in the next day, and someone had bought it that night before. Naturally. So, I started the online/build search. I ended up finding one at a dealer 30 miles away just two weeks later, in Avalanche, with all the features (or as I am finding out, all the features you can get for now). I drove out and did a test run. Find out no heated steering wheel. Okay. This sucks. Might even be a deal breaker. But I really love this truck. It is exactly how I would personally build a truck for myself. I don’t wait long to pull the trigger. I figured it wouldn’t last long, my search wasn’t finding many near me and I was reading about horror wait times on builds (to which I don’t believe you can build one with a heated steering wheel right now anyway). My ‘18 was pushing 100K miles, figured I better get the most value out of it now.

Enjoying the truck for a couple weeks, although every time I get in and that steering wheel is cold, I question if I made the right decision (only for a minute or so, then I say yes I’m good). Then I’m reading about blue cruise, knew nothing about it, and come to find out that’s something else that was taken away. So I’m looking at some ‘22s online, but again none really available that close to me (100 miles or so). But I’m seeing the stickers and it’s like I could have got the same truck with blue cruise and heated steering wheel for $2-3K less; more if I could be patient and find one with ~5K miles on it.

I don’t know. I love this truck and I absolutely love my color, which I believe is only available on the ‘23, right? The blue cruise is probably not something I would use a whole lot. I’ve been driving for 25 years. I drive buses. So I’m always driving. I like to drive. I like my hand(s) on the wheel haha. I do, however, like that wheel to be heated as I’ve had a heated wheel in my vehicles since 2011. Obviously the most upsetting part is paying ~$80K for the newest possible truck and it having less features than the previous year(s). It boggles the mind. Extremely upsetting to say the least.

But at least I’m not in the same boat as most of you as far as building the truck and expecting to get certain things, only for it to show up missing some of those things. That would be even more frustrating.

Sorry. Just a little early Saturday morning rant before I start the day going through the car wash, running some errands, and getting a few compliments on my truck and remembering how blessed I am to be able to have this truck, a really awesome truck, even if it is annoyingly lacking some features that it really ought to have.

Have a nice weekend everyone.
Sorry to hear about the disappointment on the heated wheel, I can understand as it is a great feature. To answer your question, yes, avalanche is MY23 only at this point. The cycle of deleted features has escalated over the last 6 months. My 22 I waited over nine months for is missing parking assist, interior lighting for cup holders , the cubby, and auto start/stop. The further we get into later deliveries the more options that are being deleted which is sad. Hope you find what you are looking for or become happy with what you have. Cheers!

I saw the communication sent to the dealership from Ford. Not sure what you mean about the "3:45-4:00 mark" though?

3:45 - 4:00 minutes into the video above. Also, my truck doesn’t have a button for a heated steering wheel on the center console. Unless they were to add it some other way. But I’m thinking it’s not going to be an option to add. But here’s hoping!

There are some discussions about this topic on other threads. I believe that the climate panel needs to be replaced as a minimum, along with the Steering wheel/clock spring. It’s certainly an expensive retrofit, and way more than the paltry invoice credit!

Has any MY23 owners, especially 402a, opened up their steering wheel yet to see what all is in there? There are some MY23 owners of other models... Lariats, Platinums, etc... on f150gen14 showing that they have the heating element and just need like one part (plus a new hvac) to get this working. Others though say they need a new steering wheel because the heating element isn't in theirs. But no one over there that I've seen post about it is a tremor owner.

I just picked up my '23. Build date was 10/26/22, so it's been sitting somewhere for awhile. Window sticker has credits for no stop/start (yay), and heated steering wheel (boo). I hope it has heated mirrors....

Mine was missing the fender vents ....I bought some off ebay before I figured it out and my dealer sent me a second set so now I have two. Need to sell one set.

Hey all, and happy Friday! For anyone that's recently taken a delivery of a new Tremor, are there any features (other than the stop/start) that's been deleted as a result of the chip shortage? Heated seats, heated steering wheel, parking sensors, anything like that? I've heard "stories" on social media, bit wanted to check here before grilling my dealer. Thanks!
Lost heated steering wheel and advanced safety features.

‘23 402a with a 10/30/22 build date, steering wheel did NOT have the heating element. Replaced it with a Raptor heated steering wheel (along with SCCM and HVAC module) and now have a heated steering wheel.

'23 402a builts in Jan 23' (build sheet order) requested the heating wheel, had me sign a draft PO showing it could not be delivered. Steering wheel has no heating element and is hard as a rock (someone on a thread noted wheels with heating elements are softer).

Thanks guys. Unfortunately I’m gonna say no ‘23 tremor steering wheels have the heated element. Mine is definitely not soft at all either. I do not trust myself to rip apart my interior. But I’m also sure Ford won’t do it because of warranty issues or whatever. Ugh, sucks.

I had a 2012 FX4 (when that was a trim, not just package). Loved that truck and thus how I ended up back with a F-150 (had an adventure van in between). Anyhow as silly as it sounds with a build sheet order with all the things I wanted when they told me that I would not get the heated steering wheel, and there was no retrofits I was pretty pissed to be honest with you. I know it seems like a small thing with the remote start to warm the truck and all, but on winter days and with me pushing 50 I like my luxury items! Maybe it's just me being picky......not sure I want to go the hassle of having it added now either though.

It’s not silly. It’s a $75K+ truck. It should have something that comes pretty standard on all luxury packages of just about every car maker out there. And then to not offer a retrofit, it’s just not putting the customers at the forefront of their interests. I’ve had a HSW in my vehicle since 2011 so I’m not very happy about it at all. And honestly the $140 credit is such a joke. But I could have always walked away so I guess I shouldn’t be allowed to complain too much.

I felt exactly the same way...I was like $140 is maybe the cost of the parts but not the option to a consumer. I did tell the dealer when it arrived (as that is when they broke the no retrofit news on me) that I needed 24 hrs to cool off. They are like do you want to see it, I was like sure if it has the heated wheel. I went home and didn't return till the next day. Then I was like, you know it is a damn nice truck, and obviously bought it. So yeah I can't complain too much, but agree it is a key item for a truck of this value. 🤷‍♂️

Are all the f150 pickups being shorted or just the tremor package?

I think just about all of them. I know I’ve seen posts on other forums saying the lariats and platinums are deleted as well. Although some of them are reporting the heating element is in their steering wheel so at least they don’t have to spend $700 on a new steering wheel. But still a pain to buy and install the other parts.

yeah. To the consumer you are going to be at least $500 in parts. I negotiated that with my dealer to get more money off the purchase since I was then buying the parts and installing myself.

I was told for the F series they were removing the option for 2024....i mean that is just what i was told, I don't see any press on it. Given the backlash they might not have a big release.
