Sync 4 not connected to network: fixes or thoughts?

I'm pretty sure this is their go to answer when they get to the bottom of their troubleshooting list.

I had this same issue on my 23 and after 3 or 4 days began my own troubleshooting.

Ultimately what got my modem back up and running was disconnecting the positive battery terminal for about 10 minutes then starting back up. Came right back online and worked as normal. Been good for a week or so now.
is it still working? If not, how long before it quit? Thanks, I’m giting the same problem…

As far as I'm concerned, it's that easy. Did the trick for me and has been fine since.
Honestly don’t think it matters. Bigger discussion was around not letting the terminal “bounce” as you’re taking it off so it doesn’t spark and give little power spikes to the system. I’m no mechanic but it worked so I’m happy lol.

Did that fix the problem permanently?

Same issue as mentioned above on a ‘23 402a. Went through the whole troubleshooting guide from Ford and spoke with a FordPass rep. No success.

Found a thread on a Lightning forum that suggested removing the negative battery lead for ~2m. Tried it this afternoon and it seems to have fixed the problem; all functionality has returned. Hoping it stays fixed!

Disconnecting the battery worked for me. I think it's been like 2 weeks.

Disconnecting the battery did not work permanently for me. I've had to disconnect the battery three times now. Basically once every 7-10 days. I'm flying out to Vegas this weekend, supposed to be pretty cold when I get back, and I just know it's going to go out on me while I'm gone and I'm not going to be able to use my FordPass to have that thing running, hot, and ready to go haha.

Mine stopped workrong again for a couple days and now it works again without me doing anything. Not sure if a software patch came thru or what. Nothing really changed it just started working again. On thing that did change I guess is I took my internet down because I’m getting carpet installed at the house. Don’t think that’s the reason though but who knows.

Mine did it again last night. I did the battery 'fix' again. Literally as soon as I did the battery 'fix', I got a Ford Power-Up Software Update. See attachments. I'm not holding my breath that this update fixes this problem though as it's not mentioned anywhere in the details. But maybe?

Mine also did it on the 11th of this month and has not come back. Haven't tried the battery "fix" yet and also have not gotten any notification of an update in the app. Such a PIA...both in carplay apps and the navigation my truck gets lost in the sauce and has no clue where it is in my state, so I am not able to use any navigation whatsoever. One second I will be somewhere, and the next I will be stuck on the on the side of the road not moving, due to location problems.

Hmm I have never had any issues with CarPlay, including Apple Maps, when this has happened to me, but I know it messes up the Ford Sync Navigation and maybe other CarPlay navigation apps too, not sure. Of course, I usually do the battery 'fix' right away so I really haven't tested it since it first happened to me. I literally keep a 10mm wrench in my glove compartment so I can do this as soon as it happens. Definitely really annoying that this has to be done and they haven't come out with a proper fix yet. I'm waiting to call them until April 1 so I can be like "well this was supposed to be fixed a month ago and I'm still dealing with this." I'm also not sure how healthy it is for the battery to be doing this once every 7-10 days.

Yea it could be something related to my phone, I guess ill try restarting it and see what happens. I should start keeping the wrench with me as well as this seems its going to be a reoccurring problem, which hopefully it isnt. let us know what the results of the phone call is.....also not too sure about the battery health either...

I feel like I should update everyone here, thank you to all for providing a lot of useful information in this thread. At one point my dealership did think there was a fault code related to the telematics system, so that part was replaced,by which I think they meant the modem. Unfortunately, while I have had much longer stretches of the system working, it continues to go out randomly for usually less than a day at a time. Also hopeful for a software fix, which i hope would maybe be more definitive.
Did you ever get yours fixed? I’m still having the problem with my ‘23…. As of Feb 17 my dealer hasn’t heard from Ford engineers!

Also had the most recent update pushed to mine overnight. Have those of you with the update continued to have intermittent connectivity?

Had the update pushed to mine this week and I lost Ford Pass connectivity. Disconnected the terminal on my battery for a couple of minutes and then put it back. Started the truck and all good.

So weird and so frustrating. So either this was not the software fix we’ve been promised or it isn’t working.

Have not gotten it "fixed" yet. Still a problem as of this morning's drive to work.

Like I said in a previous post, I think your best shot at answers would be through the FordPass customer service: 1-800-336-0486 — and when I say best shot at answers, I mean basically they recognize there is a problem and tell you whether they've been given an ETA on when a software update is going to be pushed. Might be best to call when your modem is down because that's been the case when I have called and they are able to look and see that your modem is down and might be more inclined to give you information. Of course that being said, they told us by the end of February and that never happened. They told me the engineers were noticing more problems with it or something like that and no longer had an ETA (that was March 1).

Thanks for the info. I’ll call Ford Pass. This is so frustrating even if it’s not a major problem. So much wasted time chasing answers.
