I don’t see why you couldn’t use 1. You’ll just have to run wire from passenger side to drivers side.

Will we be able to wire the light to a Auxiliary switch to turn off the whole assembly if we use decide to get and use the adaptors? Not sure if my question makes sense having not done the install before or worked with any type of aux switch before.

Well, pretty productive weekend.

I finished the mold tool for making the lenses and surprisingly, it works really well out of the gate! Haha.

I completed 4 sets of lights. I’m waiting on some more supplies to keep going, but those should be in this week and I can really get cranking next weekend.

Also got my sample for the plug n play adapter. It’s basically the starkey adapter that folks have been using to tap into the drl without splicing directly into the factory harness. This one just give ground, drl, and turn signal access. These will be available to add for those of you who ordered already and would like to add them and will be an add on option for future orders.

Is the 3rd wire if you want the blinker function? Looking at starkeys site, these look the same except yours has 3 wires instead of 2.

If you use the adapters, the lights will be one whenever the DRLs are on. If you also wire to an aux switch, you could turn them on even when the DRLs are off. But they will still turn on when DRLs are on.

This is what I’m looking to do. I’d very much like to have the option to turn them off when I want to look like a “regular” F150 Tremor without a grille light by flicking the switch to off.

There are three wires to make the lights function. One for ground, one for DRL(or just on) and one for turn signal input.

If you don’t want them on all the time you wire them to an upfitter for manual control. They would still activate with turn signals even when main lower is off though.

I’m not sure how they would need to be wired in order to allow for drl control, and manual control. Maybe some kind of additional relay could make that possible?

You could use a relay. Take the hot lead from the DRL’s and use it as the constant power for the relay. DRL’s have to be on to make the relay hot. Then trigger it with an upfitter switch. Upfitter switch would have to be on to have the grill light on. When switch is off the DRL’s will still function but the relay wont be triggered to turn the light on.

Just off and on is straight to the upfitter switch but if you want what Big Cam is looking for there is one option for you,

The upfitters only work with the vehicle ignition on correct? So you could just leave it on all the time if that didn't bother you. Flip the switch when you're not feeling it.

Yes, It appears only the Superduty gets the two that work with the ignition off. Or you could use a aftermarket switch you hide out of site. If you hard wired them to the up-fitter switch it would do the same as the relay except they would be on as soon as the ignition powered up and stay on when you're on the phone or listening to music with the truck not running. Plus you could turn the DRL's off in the menu and kill both the Tremor stripe and DRL's if hooked direclty to them. You could also use a smart relay and use your phone to turn them on and off with no visible switch. It would even add strobe and dimming capability's.

Hey everyone, excellent site to get ideas to modify the Tremors.
Cblaxx19, I currently have a Putco LED emblem and tapped into the passenger side DRL using a plug n play. Is it possible to connect these amber grille lights on the driver side DRL?

You are correct, the upfitters do not get powered until you actually hit the ignition button.

I highly doubt any police officer would have an issue with them as they are no different than the raptor lights other than in design. Plenty of vehicles these days are coming from the factory with white or amber accent lighting on the front end.

I have the ford emblem that lights up at night (looks to be the same one you have), however it is not on during the day. I like this approach.

If I use the Starkey PnP harness, will the light bar function the same? Or will they be on all the time since the DRL are always on during the day.

how did you wire the emblem?

using the harness im working with Starkey on, the grille bars will be on whenever the DRLs are on.

It plugged into the driver's side headlight. Super easy to install.

So if that is the case, these lights will be on all the time since the DRLs are on during the day and headlights at night.
