Tremor Rear Shock Options

Any idea if the vertex 2.5 rears would change the height of rear at all? I'm hoping to keep the factory stance due to parking at a 6'8" garage at work. Everything else suspension and tire wise is stock.
Shocks wont generally change the lift. The Eibachs did (maybe a half inch) when my bed was completely empty but they settled down a bit after a few hundred miles. The 5160s didn't change the height, at all.

Should be just about th same, the dimensions are very close to the stock shocks.

Who's gonna be the first to report on the 5165's? I can't take it! ;)

My truck should be here in three weeks or so. I'd love to have a pair of rear shocks ready to install. The 5165's are my front runner but would love to hear some feedback from an actual install on these trucks.

Recently had long discussion with my ford mechanic, no clue why I didn’t think of this earlier. He has awesome garage at his house working on ford pick-ups only on the side. Anyway first thing he asked is do you have a rear sway bar? My truck is at the detailer so I can’t look. Anyway his F250 fx arrived recently after 5 month wait and surprisingly to him it shows up without a rear sway bar. ( he has one ordered) .
When I get my truck back I’m taking it to him to install shocks and look it over. He cautioned me that upgrading shocks may not do a lot to the squirrely feeling. I’m almost hoping my truck doesn’t have rear sway bar because he said he can get one easily install and will do way more to correct the squirrelys. He is going to look into the shock issue with his buddies at ford. All my ramblings basically means I will not have much info till late next week on shocks etc.

Our trucks don't have a sway bar from what I rember when being down there.

What brands are you looking at? I've been considering one also since the vertex are adjustable and the sway bars usually stiffen up. I can lighten the vertex and put the sway bar and still have a nice ride, but tight.

I’m not sure. I’ll get back to group when the guy looks at it. He said all F150’s have same frame mounts. I’m guessing he is talking about a ford part standard on some F150’s????

After some google research, it appears the sways from hellwig (7743) fit on a '21. Some changes on suspension, but bar still fits the same. I ordered the one for 0-2" lift since our block is right around 2".

Supposedly a simple install, will report back. It's on Amazon btw.

Btw just picked up the truck with the SPC UCAs, RC2.5 fronts, and vertex rears. Couldn't take pics because it's pouring rain but so far It drives GREAT. Significantly better than the level kit, and stock rear shocks. They said it all went on no problem, aligned perfectly.

What do you have the Vertex set at?

Rear sway bar should stiffen up the rear end and help in cornering, particularly on paved roads. May go from a factory understeer bias to more oversteer at the limit. However, a sway bar may decrease your off-road articulation and overall performance in the slow, rut and rocky driving.

How much did the whole set up and install run?

I agree, though it also helps balance you out and not lean unsafely. It would limit extreme articulation.

I'm taking the tradeoff for better everyday handling. Will report back when I install it.

Lol, I was confused for a minute, my every day handling would be for off road. Most of my road miles are to get me to the start of my truck's intended use.

One day i will live in an area like that and be cool like you guys T_T

Ahhhh. The crux of the problem. What did Ford design this truck for? Off-roading, towing, taking a date to dinner? The only thing the tremor is set up for off the lot is a dinner date.

Yes the shocks lack a little, the tires are not e rated, but over all the truck comes more capable than most need, the tires while not E rated, unless your towing at the upper end daily they are good tires, they have been put through the ringer with me over the last 6 months and other than tearing some small chunks off they have held up surprisingly well. Will I go back with the same tire? No but that's because the wildpeak at3w is too good of a tire to turn my back on and covers everything well, wears well, excellent wet traction, excellent snow traction, and doesn't sound like a freight train. Would it have been nice for Ford to have thought ahead like they did with the bronco and had some aftermarket lined up for suspension change yes. But overall the truck is by far the best in it's class.

So far from the truth. Are you new or a troll? :ROFLMAO:

In case anyone was wondering about the Bilstein 5160 handling extension.

I'm hoping to put the 5165s in tomorrow.
