Tremor Rear Shock Options

It's too bad VIP can't do that, they put in a lot of work to try and match the colors, nobody else has or cares to.

I was thinking about asking them for a custom order.

I really don't think this helps us currently but..

What's the compressed and extended lengths?

Also while we're at it how are the 5165's and vertex's working out for those who have them?

Vertex rears only here. They've been running well for me. The adjustability is rather nice. I come from having driven a tuned up mustang GT project car for the last 10 years, so being able to stiffen up the rear for on road driving has been wonderful. I currently drive around at 5 out of 8 stiffness. I haven't had the opportunity to push articulation much, but I'm also only on week 3.

Love the vertexes so far. I drive on the 5 setting out of 8. Handles great. I'll test the off-road in September when I'm in NC.

Installing the sway bar this weekend so should also help overall with getting a tight ride.

Which sway bar did you go with? Sorry, I know it's off topic!

The 5165s are good, so far. I'll know more at the end of next month when I invade Canada, fully geared.

No complaints from me with the Vertex yet. I keep switching around between 4-6. Probably should just set it at 5 like the others have mentioned.

Any idea if the icon 2.5 VS PB CDCV’s (97720CP) would work on a RC 2.5” level and a 3” rear block? Stage 3 says they allow 0-2” of lift, I’m assuming the stock Tremor inch plus an extra inch of block would be fine to run with these. I know they aren’t exactly budget friendly but if they work properly…

Icon is annoying since they don't share their measurements. My take on it is we're effectively running a 2.5" lift in the rear, stock. That I'm aware of, the only two stocks that fully match our oe length are the 5165s and the vertex several people are running.

That said, if you use your truck primarily on normalish roads, that does open you up to more choices.

Hmmm. Ok, so the stock Tremor plus another 1” in the rear sounds like a no go. Hate to not have full capability. I guess I should have done more research before ordering. They should be in on Friday, what was the stock measurements required (if you don’t mind) I’ll get real numbers off them when they come in.

The measurements are somewhere in this thread. If you're looking to add another inch in the rear, that may open you up to something else if you increase your rear bumpstop, too. Ultimately, it comes down to the compressed length of a shock can never be shirter than half the total extended length (in reality its closer to 40% the extended length)
I remember our oe extended length is 30.5" and I think our compressed is around 18"

It's around 31" extended and 17.8" compressed, so if they measure within that range as close as possible to those measurements they will work on the stock truck, if you start adding lift in the rear you will have to extend that a little and probably modify your bump stops.

It’s a shame there isn’t a better resource for this stuff. Seems like a lot of research to find a plus 1” rear shock.

That was the intent of this thread - to provide a clearing house for discovered information, opinions, reports, etc. There’s been some good info thrown out for sure, but no clear and obvious ‘perfect’ solution.

Dewalt is not allowed to give out the length of their tape measures. This has always been a big problem when trying to compare Dewalt tape measures vs competing products.

Just kidding, thats some horseshit
