Yeah, when I put the rear eibachs on, it raised the empty bed about a half inch. I wouldn't expect that to be the case with a loaded bed but we could try it out.I measured the best I could from the center of the hub to the top of the wheel well and I also measured from the ground to the top of the wheel well. The rear settled at least 3/4” from when it was new. I did not put on new rear shocks. I put on Eibach lift springs and front shocks. The problem is after doing that and the rear settling it left me with basically 1/4” of rake and I’m trying to figure out how to get some rake back. I know what you are saying about the leaf springs supporting the truck but I swear somewhere on here I read someone swapped out rear shocks and it ended up raising the back end.
They'll certainly work. I think the outstanding question is will they work well without revalving? Thanks everyone for the wealth of information catalogued here. I'm a newbie on the subject matter and after a few read throughs of this thread I figured its probably safer to ask than to assume. I'm hoping to keep the stock tremor stance and am interested in replacing the factory rear shocks.
Am I correct in thinking that Bilstein 5165 (25-187748) will allow for a close match to OEM stance? Looks like they're at 17.90 compressed, 31.00 extended with 255/70 valving. (https://www.shockwarehouse.com/news/bilstein_5165.cfm)
Since the OE shocks are 30.5" extended (maxed at 29.5") and 18.1" compressed (thanks Captain), it sounds like things should work out?
Thanks in advance!

What is difference between 5160 and 5165.. is one a better option? They'll certainly work. I think the outstanding question is will they work well without revalving?
I believe the 5160 is the only one that comes specifically valves for new f150Whey

Thank you I am going to grab some 5160s... love the truck but washboard roads in Northern AZ were like driving on ice with stock rear shocks. Hopefully 5160s help..According to Bilstein the 5165 will work it will just be about 15% stiffer, meaning if you have a top or tow a lot or just tend to carry around 300+ lbs in the bed they will work well, otherwise go with the 5160, I think a few are currently running them and seem to like them @Yeti ?

My front end can’t go full droop with my readylift kit anyway and that’s not really an issue for me so if that’s your only concern might as well go for it. Kinda sucks they haven’t made tremor specific options since I’m pretty sure 5100’s would be completely fine for my use but also completely understand all the added benefits of the 5160’sIt may be worth a call to engineering to see if they would replace the 5165 valving with the 5160 valves and call it a tremor package. So far, I do like the 5160s and think I'll like them more when I have some consistent weight in the bed. the reduced articulation does concern me a little long term but unweighted and short term, I can't think of anything that would push my truck that much.
I recently installed the 5160s & theyre awesome compared to factory for regular driving. I just did some light off road yesterday & they were so much better than stock. My front end can’t go full droop with my readylift kit anyway and that’s not really an issue for me so if that’s your only concern might as well go for it. When I get done rebuilding my deck I will put in a call to them, just let them know that the 5165 model number I gave is the proper length and that if they would do it with the valves from the 5160 for the f150 they could have the only Tremor specific rear shock on the market. It may be worth a call to engineering to see if they would replace the 5165 valving with the 5160 valves and call it a tremor package. So, you’re down to like the last handful of screws on that deck right? My 2.5 year old keeps telling me “super fast daddy” no matter how bumpy the road gets. so I guess my hands are tiedI recently installed the 5160s & theyre awesome compared to factory for regular driving. I just did some light off road yesterday & they were so much better than stock.
You can’t argue with her logic lol.My 2.5 year old keeps telling me “super fast daddy” no matter how bumpy the road gets. so I guess my hands are tied![]()
Sadly no, just got the joists ran for part of it probably another 3 days of work. So, you’re down to like the last handful of screws on that deck right? Haha
