What's new

What do you do in your spare time other than plan on a Tremor?

good idea on the protection plan — let me know how it goes.

Okay, I’ve been waiting for Fox Shocks — but…. What do you think about this?

I went ahead and ordered my HK416D clone 😁 — starting with a HK MR556A1:

- HK MR556A1
- 11” 416D Handguard
- Trijicon 1x8 VCOG (transferring from my M16A4 clone — replaces ACOG
- Vickers Sling + Rail Mounted Fixed Loop
- BUIS: KAC Folding Micro Rear Sight + M4 Front Sight
- UID Tag
- Manta Defense Rail Cover Kit
- Forward Grip — I have a leftover KAC Vertical Grip

*I am waiting to see if the grip is correct and stock (think they are).

Under Consideration:

- HK416 14.5" / 16" GAS BLOCK VENTED WITH RINGS AND BAYONET LUG
- Black Ops Conversion Services (Anodizing & laser engraving, maybe gas block work)
-Harris LM-S 9"-13" bipod

Okay the HK MR556 is in — the rifle is now in the basic M27 configuration. I have recieved everything except for the KAC Folding M4 Front Sight — will order that from MidwayUSA once the next free shipping deal starts again. I ended up getting a pretty good deal —I ran across another Marine that just very recently got out 😉— a new KAC BUIS Folding Rear Sight w/ USMC stamped on the rear + 3 LaRue LT799 Optic Mounts. I called La Rue and they verified that the LT799 is USMC standard issue for the Trigicon Optics — all new. I plan to use them on the M4 (ACOG), M16A4 (ACOG), and M27(VCOG) clones.
I will put the VCOG on the MR556/M27 Clone and add the other parts — hopefully I will find a good deal on the KAC M4 Folding Sight prior. I am also still considering whether or not to go all out and get the Harris Bipod.

Here she is purchased and then moved over to the M27 Rail, Grip, and Convex Butt Pad.

Just Arrived — Stock MR556A1 Config:

They replaced it no questions asked! They also prorate you on the warranty so I got the full amount back since it was the first month....haha. I just applied it to the new drone.

Hell yeah man! Congrats....she is beautiful!

Next week the optics mounts and BUIS come in…. I’ll post a pick of the full setup.

I’m toying with the idea of having the MR556A1 model info removed and re-engraved with all the M27 branding. The only thing that will remain is the actual serial to keep it legal. Here is what it will look like, minus the USMC prefix on the lower (no space to add it).

These are just example receivers — they are not US legal — a guy I believe in Switzerland did them. The engraving business in the states would use a similar engraving tool. Again, the serial on my rifle will be unaltered.

Seems like you'd have to get it re-anodized as well, but if you are trying to make a perfect clone, I get it.

That’s correct — basically they remove just enough material to delete the original engraving. Then anodize or cerakote the lower and upper to match. Then apply the desired markings.

The tough part is the fire selection symbols are deep, so they can’t be deleted…. They have to attempt a 30 Auto symbol to match.

I have taken none of my other clones to this extreme, so I’m still deciding if it’s worth it. Once you do this, you can never revert back to the original look — I have no plans to sell my rifles, but I do keep this in mind. You also risk a poorly executed job ruining the look and worth of the rifle.

The lower receivers in the example above are new blank aftermarket receivers being engraved — they are not HK. A lot of guys are using the Brownells production M27 kits that were sold a while back. Interestingly, it still cost a similar amount with the Brownells kits vs buying an HK MR556.

Just ordered in a few rifles from Fulton Armory — if you’re looking for the classic reproductions to add to you collection (M16, M14, M1 Garand, M1 Carbine) they do great work with all USGI parts when possible.

For the best M14, I’d go with Bula Defense - they make all the parts for the US Military to maintain their current inventory. Bula differs from Springfield Armory and Fulton in that all the receivers and parts are forged.

As a Canadian I'm avoiding this thread like the plague from now on. Our gun laws are beyond ridiculous and seeing all these beautiful rifle pictures makes me sad that my AR lower is sitting in my safe unable to be finished, locked up and is now considered prohibited. Every year something else I own becomes illegal and isn't allowed outside of the safe.

Ugh, I’m sorry you guys are going through all that.

I really hope that doesn’t happen here.

It's full on communism up here. At least we all can enjoy our ICE trucks for now.

Did you know every American truck comes with a pistol in the glovebox? I'm hoping my Tremor comes with a Glock bc their HQ down the street in Smyrna does free repairs.
