Just finished adding Ford’s OEM brush bar (SKU SL3Z-8307-AA) to my new 2026 Tremor 402A, 5.0 — and figured I’d post because I couldn't find much about it on Reddit or YouTube when I was researching.
A few notes for anyone considering it:
I bought it online from Varsity Ford for $660, which felt like a win since I kept seeing it listed elsewhere for a list price of $800. I was still hesitant, because let’s be honest, paying that much for “a bar that goes on the front of the truck” feels like the kind of decision you make first and justify later.
When it arrived, my first reaction was: this thing is way more substantial than I expected. It is not some flimsy decorative tube. It’s beefy, solid, and actually feels like a real piece of hardware.
Naturally, I looked at the modular bumper and thought:
“Eight bolts. How hard could this be?”
Answer: Much harder than eight bolts.
After downloading the installation instructions, I learned this was not a casual Saturday driveway project, as it came with supporting hardware that is not obvious from the surface. It involved removing the front bumper, disconnecting sensors, and generally venturing into the kind of territory where one wrong move turns into “why is my dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree?”
At that point, I recognized this was beyond my personal skill set and asked the dealer to handle it.
Very glad I did.
Even though this is an accessory you can order with a new truck, dealers are the ones who install them, and apparently, there is a reason for that. It took two people and several hours to get it done. These don't appear to be very common, so very little experience out there yet. They charged me $300 for installation, which honestly seemed more than fair because I know they spent more time on it than they billed me for at an hourly rate. My dealer is awesome.
Bottom line: I think it looks fantastic. It gives the truck a more finished, tougher look without looking cheesy, and it still works with the grille camera, ADAS sensors, BlueCruise, and adaptive cruise. That was a huge deal for me, because I could not find another bull bar/brush guard option that didn’t seem likely to interfere with the truck’s electronics.
That’s really what sold me on this one. It looks unique, seems purpose-built for the Tremor, and helps the truck stand out while still being practical.
So yes, I started this process thinking:
“Why is this stupid bar so expensive?”
And I ended it thinking:
“Okay… I get it now.”
Has anyone else installed one of these yet?
