What's new

🛠️ What have you done to your F150 Tremor this week?

Got the windshield replaced. Safelite/Progressive wanted to give me an OEE windshield but could not say if it had the Sound Screen or not. Opted for the OEM at 350 my cost.

Left on Friday to start our road trip. Towed 990 miles over 3 days. Truck and trailer both weighing in at 7k a piece, 14k total. Bilsteins did AMAZING. Truck feels much more stable. Front end doesn't bounce like before and recovers quickly. Rear handles everything and recovers quickly as well. VERY happy with the new setup. Went from needing about 15-20 lbs in the air bags to 30 lbs to compensate for the lift.

I think (hope) that I finally resolved the issues I was having with the whole TPMS system. Just a little history first. The truck is a 2023 that I bought new in July of that year. Not long after that I bought a set of General Grabber X3s and installed them on 2019 Raptor wheels. The Raptor wheels were take-offs that included their original TPMS sensors. BTW, both the 2019 and 2023 sensors are 315 mhz. It worked fine for at least a year and then one of those 2019 sensors died. After replacing that sensor with another of the same Motorcraft part number and not being able to train it I finally gave up and took it to the local Ford dealer and had them do it. The only problem was that they insisted on using a 2023 sensor in the 2019 wheel which I don't believe was necessary since the other three still had the old sensors and were still trainable to the 2023 truck. Hell, I didn't even have to train the sensors when I first installed the 2019 wheels and amazingly they worked just fine. I even had a tire puncture when the 2019 sensors were all still working and the system recognized the low air pressure. Anyway, because they were not the original wheels that sensor replacement was not covered by the factory warranty and I ended up paying $83 plus labor ($118 total) for just one sensor. Hmmm? Since then I have eventually had to replace all of the remaining 2019 sensors and decided to use the same 2023 Motorcraft part number which I bought on-line for about $53 each. You would think that would have been a slam dunk, right? Well, after not being able to train those using the hazard switch method to get into training mode I did some more research and discovered that new sensors that have never been trained to a particular vehicle should be done using the brake pedal/ignition switch method. Don't ask me why one method works and the other doesn't. Apparently not all TPMS training modes are the same. All I know is that the brake pedal method solved my problem.
