What's new

🛠️ What have you done to your F150 Tremor this week?

Shadow you are not selling this well. I was in on this purchase until you posts.

I’m bad at this I’m sure yours will go smooth!

Watching the Cobb intercooler install video it said you could do it in 12 minutes. Was it that difficult?
Not very difficult but it’s not gonna take 12 minutes unless you already have everything taken apart and have done it multiple times before.

When do you think the install will be finished. Looking forward to the finished product.

I did the Baja’s for reverse lights. Probably best upgrade so far. Really helps you see.
Can't wait to see it at night. I am home alone today so haven't actually seen the reverse part light up. The truck need to be in (Duh!) reverse. 😁

Update: Works great!

Actually, you can see the difference when the sync system shows reverse. It’s obviously brighter for me and I can see the beam pattern.

That’s a great question lol…. Everything keeps going wrong, right now I can’t find where a few plugs go from the bumper wiring harness and I can’t find my upfitter switch cables in the engine bay.

Jokes on me… the first picture is the shutter motor for the now nonexistent lower shutters and the red one plugs into a endcap on the OEM fog lights that goes nowhere!!! 💀💀💀

Aside from adjusting the lights, all done. It’s heavy enough that the truck went down in the front a bit over an inch.

Looks good, man!

Okay so…. Update.

Started driving to Colorado yesterday and made it about 50 miles when I got a p0299 underboost code when trying to pass someone.

Drove back home, checked the fittings this morning and everything seemed tight. Sprayed some soapy water on the boots to see if there were any leaks and on the eBOV and didn’t see anything.

Took it down the road to try and replicate the code and I’m pretty sure the turbo exploded. Billowing white smoke and a cyl 3 misfire.

Feeling pretty defeated right now and I think the next steps will be to return it to as stock as I can and take it in.

That sucks after all the work you put in it.
I googled p0299 and this came up:

Maybe it will help.

Yeah I’m gonna check that, it’s possible I tore a seal/diaphragm trying to reinstall it, just trying to figure out how an IC install would kill a turbo.

Wondering if my tune has anything to do with it. Pretty sure I’m gonna get fucked on having warranty cover this 🥲

If it’s torn I’ll just end up replacing it with a turbo smart BOV.

I put the Turbosmart on mine. I had to double up on the o-rings because both it and the stock BOV seemed loose when they were tightened down.
Can't tell you if it leaked because I didn't start it up but it sure was loose.
