What's new

🛠️ What have you done to your F150 Tremor this week?

I just started experiencing this as well. Truck turns off lighting to save battery. What if i change out to an AGM?
I turned off the welcome lights seems to help some. The truck's not my daily driver so I ended up putting it on a battery tender. The weird thing is my wife drove it to Virginia while I Road the motorcycle down. The truck sat for 3 days while we camped out of it. Started it up moved it a few feet turned it off after that the battery was dead.

I think they have an AGM from the factory, or at least mine does.
My understanding is the battery system significantly slows down the voltage going from the alternator to the battery at 80%, so lots of short trips and a temp drop and the battery is low.
Happened with mine every couple of days when it got cold i drove about 13 hours round trip for Xmas. And now its back to normal driving, low Temps, but not issues because it actually charged all the way up.
My 2022 did not have an AGM, I just changed it out after it started failing less than two years in.

The AGM is worth the money.

That's super weird. My 22 has an AGM. What was your blend date?

Tonight I did the ambient lighting upgrade to my truck. Cup holder, media cubby, and the glove boxes. Note I went above and beyond by doing the upper glove box. Have a light leak nuance to work through but I kind of expected that.
Is that a factory kit or aftermarket? Looks a lot better

Installed the J&L Oil Separator

Got my Husky bed mat installed. I was so torn among all the various options. I liked the WeatherTech ImpactLiner but just couldn’t justify nearly $300 for it. I’ll be honest I sure was tempted to get it solely because I think it is the most visually appealing one in that it just blends in. But I settled on the Husky after careful consideration of my wallet. I think it also looks great don’t get me wrong. Definitely seems like it’ll take a beating which is its purpose. Literally just unrolled it so I'm sure it'll smooth out over the next few days.

Also picked up a BedRug TrackMat to keep in the truck in case I need to do any work off pavement. Simple but good quality piece.

How is that Bak revolver tonneau working out for you? I've been wanting to buy it, but the reviews on Amazon are all over the place.

Son had hockey practice, so I fired up the old NES and jumped around the Mushroom Kingdom.
That's great. I'm assuming you have the box that lets you cast to the screen?

I used a universal winch mount from Harbor Freight, I had to notch it to fit on the ends, nothing needed relocating, with the 5

.0 , there’s a large empty space above the skid plate to install a winch, or whatever you need a place to install anything else.
Do you have more info on what you had to notch? Does the fairlead come flush with the plastic bumper? I have a 23 v8 tremor and was looking for something like this to transfer over my old winch. i have a plasma cutter and a couple of welders. Thanks Bill

Second oil change finally. Roughly 3,068 miles at this point. First change I used royal purple and it was kind of concerning how dark it came out. The oil is definitely still quite healthy I just was surprise that between the first and second interval there was such a difference. On the first drain it was still golden. Granted that was about half the miles as this. Also while I was doing it I installed a fumoto valve. I’m still cautious about this but I’ve heard nothing but good things about them so I figured I’d take a shot. With the 5.0 and the Raptor skid plate I wanted to convenience myself for the future. This was definitely a mess without removing the skid plate to drain the final time with the factory plug. After this though it should be quite painless, faster even. My hands look like they got in a fist fight with a blender right now lol.
Is it recommended to change oil this early?

I ask because I asked the service guy at my local dealership (just to see what he’d say) and he said that there was no need to even consider an oil change before 5000-10,000 miles with today’s quality oils.

OEM? Or, aftermarket?
I need to do the same installation. I hadn't noticed until after I bought mine that it, as a 402A, didn't come with bed lights. (Huh?!)
Was a box to check in the spec sheet on the build, bed utility package.

I posted that video.
All I can say is that after a while, the draw goes down. I have successfully charged mine with two different trickle chargers. It just takes time.
You need to take the key out of the vehicle.
I will get some more data when I have the battery monitor hooked up.
mines been drawing down since I picked it up last February. I put a extra noco I had from the boat on it. It's not my daily driver. I also turned off the welcome light mode, the truck was always waking up while I was in the garage.
