What's new

🛠️ What have you done to your F150 Tremor this week?

Couple pics here for folks not in the flares thread
Today/yesterday I added flares and spacers.

Rough Country Sport Flare, unpainted matte black. Great fit and finish, just annoying to get the weatherstripping just right.

1.75 inch Spidertrax spacers. Just got done re checking after 50 miles as instructed by Spidertrax. All tight, no movement. No signs of metal against metal movement/shifting.

No real change to steering feel, maybe centers oh so slightly more, can't say. Suspension feels about the same, maybe a little more jittery on bumps/rough pavement (and the pavement SUCKS here... third world country type bad)..... not sure or just me being paranoid driving on the spacers first time.... but Spidertrax is very high quality, USA metal, usa studs 10.9 graded, made in Colorado.
That looks great! I’m not a flares fan at all, but I would consider these.

I bought them sight unseen, going off that the Tundra version looked pretty good. Was a good call!

Adding some protection. First, I installed this anti-fingerprint, anti-glare, and anti-scratch PPF Screen Protector. Easy to install, and I really like the way it looks with the matte finish. It's crazy how easily these screen gets scratched from just normal use.
Also added a PPF pillar protector. I got them both from the OcdPlugShop. We shall see how they hold up.

Lastly, I finally had the time to add the Raptor catalytic protector for a little peace of mind.

Have the same screen protector so glad I did it. The pillar covers are literally sitting in my cart on Etsy, worth it?

I think they are worth it. These pillars get scratched easily especially from car washes. I don't know if it's just me but swirls and scratches on pillars make a truck look older. These help maintain that "new truck look"

I've ran the truck through car washes(yes I know, I know!) and they seem to be holding up pretty well. No swirls as PPF tends to self heal.

Awesome!
Did they have any idea what caused it?
Or did you dare ask? 😁

Glad it worked out for you.
Didn’t ask just said thanks and dipped out 😅

Been there in my 2013 with a tune, blew the turbo. Since that time, I have elected to stay away for tuning my Ecoboost, for just a little extra HP, it is not worth the headaches if something goes south. Good thing for warranties! Glad it worked out for you!

Took Stella in for an oil change and got the battery replaced under warranty. Auto start/stop had quit working and different electrical gremlins were starting to appear. Upon getting her back, turned on Wireless Android Auto and discovered that it no longer shuts off at a certain location in town every time I drive by it.

Did you get a list of what exactly they did to Stella?

I have the same issue, Android Auto stops every damn time at the same intersection. It's getting frustrating.

They only changed the oil and replaced the battery.

I shut the wireless AA off because every time I went by this one particular cell tower, it would disconnect. Frustrating to say the least. But, I tried it out after it was in the shop and it started working. There was a recent update on the truck and I've had an update or two on my phone since the last time I had wireless AA on, so I don't know exactly what the fix was. I had no issue with AA when the phone was plugged in. Only when I was trying to run it wirelessly.

I used to have it happen in the same spot every time I traveled up to South Dakota. Last 2 times I've gone, it hasn't happened. No updates, no new battery. Random.

Welp, gonna have to take Tessa back to the dealer. 😐

Found a pair of new-in-box Diode Dynamics SSC2 Sports with red backlights on marketplace for $120. Came with the universal tail/reverse harness but I made my own harness and wired them directly to upfitters. This was a kit for a 4Runner, but the F150 bracket from DD doesn't work on the Tremor anyway, so I improvised. Should be great for the boat on summer nights! Also ran two extra wires to the bumper for future use while I was doing it.

Dropping it off Friday for a Bullet Liner and will install the Lomax cover I have in the garage after that!
