402A and Trailer Tow Package-Why?

So for those of us who ordered their 402A when it was a $1090 add, now that it is a $210 add, what should we expect to pay once the truck is actually delivered?
When I ordered in January I opted for the $1090 tow package. My truck is built and being shipped, the window sticker says $210 for tow package.
Not sure this helps.

Has anyone actually confirmed if there is a difference in hight in the rear yet? I was supposed to get the tow package on mine, but it didn't show up on my window sticker when it finally populated. All the materials I could find just show the only difference being tow tech doesn't include the hitch and wiring but those come standard on Tremors. Someone found something that mentioned a bigger trans oil cooler but don't think we ever got confirmation on that. Haven't seen anyone post differences in the stance of the rear of one with and one without.

I’m in Orange County CA, I’m willing to meet up with someone that has the towing package to compare differences. I have the 401A with tow technology package and mine comes with the hitch and 7pin. I believe (and no I don’t have proof) that the tow technology package has one less leaf spring. My rear end is very soft and supple. I just towed a 5,000 pound 19’ Surveyor trailer to Joshua Tree (last weekend) and it did fantastic but could feel softness in the back. The trailer was dancing in the 50mph wind but that’s expecting and never did it become an issue. As a matter of fact it was not an issue at 55mph only at 65mph and above in the high up to 50mph wind advisory area. No wind? No problem up to 70mph not that I want to tow at that speed, don’t want a ticket. Some say the radiator thickness is also a difference on tow tech vs tow package but we need to verify that in the field. It’s a wonderful off road supple suspension, I have not tested the articulation but that may also be a difference. Note, for me I don’t need another leaf spring back there for what I’m towing. If I towed to the max with max tongue weight then I would add the additional leaf.

That’s a good one, You must be a leftie and I see what you did there taking context out of order for your pleasure… Ok but kidding aside…. Here are some photos of my trucks rear end. LOL

Hopefully someone clears this up at some point! lol I'm curious if there is an added leaf, so far I think it's got a tiny bit bigger radiator. But that is about it from what I know!

Does the part number on your springs match the ones DRvamp posted?

I will check later and see what the part number is and post it.

I have the tow package and my part number matches DRvamp pic.

The mystery continues……

Guess we gotta start checking sway bars and coolers now lol.
And let’s make sure and distinguish between the ‘Trailer Tow Package’ and the ‘Tow Technology Package’. Seems when most people say ‘I have the tow package’ they mean the ‘Trailer Tow Package’ - but gotta make sure.

⬆️ Agreed

I have both. When I added the Tow package when I ordered it was like $1100….luckily when my build date came, they had a price change in the option.

I’m shocked that my tow technology package leaf springs are the same as the trailer tow package. Perhaps we should include checking for differences in radiator width, radiator fans “CFM” and also transmission coolers. It’s approximately $200 difference so it can’t be that big of a difference in parts. I also have the front Torsen so one needs to take that into consideration with regards to sway bars. My front sway bar is 1” thick, no rear sway bar on my tow technology package. Ford could clear this up fast if they wanted to.

Tin foil hat time.

There is no functional difference between tow tech and trailer tow for the Tremor package. Ford gets an extra couple of bills from us yahoos
Perhaps you are right. But here are some more specifications. My radiator thickness is 1” and attached is the radiator number and also radiator fan specification. Can someone please compare? I have the tow technology package. I can’t see an external transmission cooler. But I see a lot of cooling hoses, I don’t have a rack and I’m not able to remove the front skid plate. Perhaps when I change the oil in a few weeks.

My rear blocks are 2-1/4” high on the tow technology package. Also I took a snapshot of the class v hitch and truck specs.
