402A and Trailer Tow Package-Why?

I also have the Tow Tech package on the 402A and 3 leaf springs. Honestly don't think there are any differences.

My dealer assured me all tremors can tow 10,900lbs. 3.5 ecoboost, 5'5 bed length, with 3.73 gears.
I wonder why there is a $1000 option for a trailer tow package then?

But which 3 leaf springs do you have?

Your dealer isn't readying the chart correctly. Look at note #2 next to the engine type that covers all of the cabs, gearing and bed lengths. I often find salesmen aren't as knowledgeable as they should be.

I think it's included in all tremors. Its the point of the tremor, a truck that can go off-road, but can still haul.
Canadian orders may be different but I can't see any difference in the data Ford releases.

Sometimes I think Ford must have intentionally made this hard to figure out...lol. All they need to do is put a note on the builder saying you are restricted to 7,000 lbs without this package. Seems like a no brainer, but that is what you get without technical people on marketing teams.

I ordered a 402a... with the trailer tow package. The ONLY reason I did that (confusing as hell)- I googled it and that's how I found this forum. So a total win/win for me. Getting the higher tow rating and get to learn a bunch of stuff from all the knuckleheads here . Thanks guys!

Read note 6 which puts it specifically under "tremor" package, meaning it comes with it. Has anyone actually got a tremor without it?

According to that chart, this puts it at a gcwr of 17,100lbs. Giving it a 10,900 tow rating.

Indeed, but top of page "Towing capability will be reduced by trim series, option content, and payload" in conjunction with note 2, "Don't exceed 7000lbs with class IV without trailer tow package" is what has everyone uncertain..

I could be wrong but I think current consensus is if no 53a $1090 trailer tow package then no for 10,900 tow rating for Tremor.

Yes, fair enough. I'm still yet to see a tremor be equipped without the tow package tho. Of all the youtube videos etc I've seen, I've yet to see one without that tow package on the sticker. When I added all my options, I wanted to add the tow package and was told it comes with it. I'm in Canada, so not sure if that changes anything. Everyone is right, it shouldn't be this confusing to figure out. If my truck shows up with a 7000lb tow rating I'm gonna be pissed lol.

People have trucks without the tow package. Earlier in this thread even. Doesn't seem like anyone can tell the difference. If there is something the tow package gets you it must be fairly inconspicuous. I'm at that point of if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck it is a duck.

Plus I only tow like 3-4k...

If true then none of the Tremors must come with standard 2021 F150 leaf spring which is the single leaf+composite leaf (I actually want this lighter spring/rate). Perhaps Tow Pkg adds stronger axle like the max tow.

Remembering there are two different 3 leaf springs for our trucks, that would make absolute sense.

I get my truck sometime next month. I did not order the trailer tow package and only got the trailer tech package. I will post my sticker when it arrives to compare.

Goodness! It should not be this confusing for customers. 401a on order here, with only the Tow Technology package because the all the above info wasn't easily findable. It's interesting the door jamb sticker doesn't specify the tow rating. It specifies GVWR - weight of vehicle plus cargo/people on board. This is DIFFERENT from the max trailer rating.
Compelling evidence has been presented to suggest to get the 10,900, you have to get the trailer tow package (not just tow tech). But, it's frustrating there's no clear difference. I tow infrequently and would love a presumed more compliant ride day to day. But I also like the idea of being able to comfortably tow 8K or 9K from time to time.
I hate to ask the dealer because they don't understand this near as well as most on this forum so I can't trust them.
Where on the truck will it actually state the allowable trailer tow rating?
