What's new

5 star finally has a 21+ tune

Got this from them this week

472/492 at the wheels is not bad on 93, certainly getting a tune down the road.

Power gains plus some mpg I'm guessing? How's the shifting upgrade feel? Very tempting... A lot of power for the money.

can anyone confirm the exact model number for the SCT x4? I may have a way to get the tuner from someone else then just buy the email tunes for $200.

This link on 5star says the bundle comes with the 7015G

But this link for just the email tunes says its for 7015PGB (which i can't seem to find on a google search)

I think it’s a different model or something they had to tweak to work on 21 and up, it has an odb2 to serial adapter and plugs into the ecu with an ecu connector just the odb2 port

I don't understand your response. I'm asking if I should be buying a 7015G or a 7015PGB as the 5Star site has conflicting information...

Im
Not sure if it’s 5star or sct including the additional cables in the kit, would suggest checking with them

my model is 7015PG (Ford)

It's hard to tell on their site. Is it a hand held programmer that goes into the ODB port or do you have to replace something under the hood by the ECU. Reason being, because I would like to revert to stock when I take it in to the dealer but don't want it to be a big hassle undoing things.

plugs in direct to ECU, initial bckcup is 12-15 minutes, after that is about 5 minutes to progam

might have taken an extra 5 minutes over direct ODB port

Shifting a lot better? What's the main difference with it?
Are you driving around in Normal Mode for the most part?

seems to get up to speed much faster, quicker shifting and prior my boost gauge like never showed anything unless it was in 7+ and highway speeds, now i notice its showing boost in lower gears and much sooner, no more skip shifts

I drive around a bit in Normal and Sport , sport is almost too quick to get up to speed to city limits and on the highway like to hold gears (which is expected for sport) Normal still has plenty of power coming on alot faster it seems

Mine should be delivered today, but then I obviously have to wait for the tunes. Has anyone done a 93 performance by chance?

If anyone in New England gets the 5star 93 perf tune and wants to compare it to a Livernois 93 perf in a “friendly and competitive manner” hit me up! I’d love to see how they compare against each other!

Maybe worst case we just get a few of us with Dragy's and see what we come up with on average for the 2?
the perf tow and just perf ones are going to pretty different in themselves, and not everyone wants pure 0-60 or 1/4 mile times and super sensitive throttle, fuel and elevation as well will cause variations

i had the 5 start perf on my explorer st and in town in sport mode it was too sensitive, probably gear for the track, but 0-speeding tickets all the time lol
