F150 Tremor FORScan

So today, with tools all over the place post-stereo upgrade, I opened the driver's door while in reverse, to make sure I wouldn't run over anything while backing into the garage. I was surprised to look down and see the truck had put itself in park. I shut the door and threw it in reverse and opened the door again, just to check. Accordingly, I watched the dash as the truck shifted from R to P, crazy. And annoying. Would love to eliminate this presumable safety feature if possible, via forscan. And wish more and more for the bygone era of user-controlled dumb trucks.

@Robb1 ? This, or disable the keyboard lock, couple posts up?

Thanks.

Sorry I haven’t been monitoring this thread like I should.

Unfortunatly I do not have a solution to the keyboard block or the “auto park”. It seems some of these “safety” features are imbedded in the software. There maybe a solution in the future if someone spills the beans on how some of these features interact in the software, but right now with the information that is published I do not think it is possible. I know some of the people mapping this stuff are holding back some info related to safety features and I think the reasons for that are obvious.

I have issues with the return to park as well since I often open the door while maneuvering the boat. If you open the door first, then go to reverse it will not got to park. It yells at you, but you can carry on. You can also override it by holding the shift lever, but that’s generally not practical while also opening the door.

Thanks for the reply, and good to know about the order of operations, re open door > retreat.
Cheers

So I have a question or 2. On several value changes on 2021 code sheet it list x**x and xx- -. Are the - and * correct input values? And Robb1’s adaptive driving lights HCM 734-01-04/xx53/4E… it only lists the 4E? Should it only be the 2 values instead of 4? xx4E, or 4Exx?

Thanks for adding that excellent description!

So far I really like it. It's a real shame the laws here have not yet caught up to the technology available. The law they reference above is from 1967.

With the ADB active you do not get the high beam on / off switching we are all used to. The truck decides based on ambient lighting, traffic, etc. where to block or dim portions of the high beam to prevent glaring the other vehicles and control each beam (RH / LH) individually. To the sides you still have the extended range and coverage of the high beams. It looks like a box or tunnel in the light around the other vehicle or vehicles and it is distance dynamic so it always stays just short of the other cars as your distance changes.

It is very cool and hard to describe. It also ramps the output of the high beam, so unlike the hard transition for on to off we have with normal high beams, this has much more smooth transition allowing your eyes to adjust to the changing lighting situation better. The whole thing works automatically without any driver input. You do still have the ability to manually activate or turn off the high beams with the control stock should you need it.
So what is show on the dash display when you manually switch to the high beam position? My concern is that it has to show "high" to pass state safety inspections.

Just throwing it out there. If a person started a business of programing at a reasonable cost he would make a good living. Ford, Chevy or Dodge.

Any position with an “x” ignore the value (leave what is already there). Positions with “*” means you need to edit this value, but there are several possible values depending on your trucks configuration refer to the additional instructions for that paticular mod to determine your correct value. Positions labeled (-) are the check codes at the end of every as-built block, forscan will correct these values automatically, so you can ignore these positions.

Using the HCM as an example:

734-01-04 xx53 4E - -

Translated: leave current value, leave current value, change to 5, change to 3, change to 4, change to E, ignore value, ignore value.

Hopefully that answers your question.

If you manually select high beams you get the blue high beam telltale same as before the mod.

Thanks!!! I’ve only seen a code sheet for the 2021’s, which is on the first post. So I assume most will work with my 22 Tremor 402a…

Yes the coding is the same for the most part between 21 and 22. Exactly the same for the glare free headlights. There have been a lot of people with 22s that have successfully made the change.

Can confirm, just did the glare free on my Canadian 22 Tremor 402a

From what I understand, to get started I need to be a member of the Forscan forum? How do I get a invite code?

I replied with instructions to your PM, but for the benefit of the rest of the crew:

Download and install the forscan software.

Then go here for instructions on requesting a free 2 month extended license:
Standard and Extended licenses for Windows, version 2 - FORScan forum

You can renew the free license as many times as you would like. They also offer paid, longer term extended licenses which get you a login to post on their forum.

This is an interesting thread, I've learned a lot, including how to activate "glare Free" mode on my June '22 built 402a Tremor. I have a couple of unique Forscan questions (I've searched this and other forums with no luck).
  1. I want to disable the interior alarm (called Motion Sensors in the truck settings menus) permanently. More often than not, I have dogs with me that stay in the truck for short periods... The system setting resets each time I start the truck.
  2. I want to disable the power tailgate permanently. It seems there is always a trailer jack, bike rack, or something in the way, and I have to wrestle with the tailgate to get it to stop moving half way down
I hope y'all can help me...

I didn’t think that job 2 2022’s had the option for glare free but maybe I read wrong.

in all honesty, I have not verified that it is working correctly, but the setting is showing up on the screen. I'll find out tonight.

I think there was a rumor it was removed but I think it’s still there. Fingers crossed anyway

The glare free, which was included factory on Canadian trucks (US never had it activated), was removed for Canada job 2 per the order guide. Everyone that has tried (that I know of) with a recent build, has successfully been able to activate it. Speculation at this point is they are burning down remaining hardware and at some point trucks are going to start hitting the street without the required hardware for glare free due to the chip shortage. The best advice I have at this point is try it and see if it works.

@Essavant
For your requests:

1. When I have a little time I will poke around and see if I can find a solution for you.
2. I’m pretty certain this can be accomplished via one of the menus on the center screen. I seem to recall an option to disable the power tail gate. I’ll double check that.

For #1:

See what value you have at this position:
726-02-02xxxx**xxxx--

I believe you will have a 01, try changing that to 02 to disable motion.
