F150 Tremor FORScan

Am I misunderstanding what adaptive headlights are? It's basically just auto hi beam / low beam right? Swaps when it senses light from other cars. Or is it something else?
No sir.

Enabled with forscan and absolutely awesome. One of my favorite forscan mods.

Adaptive lights came factory on mine. It is auto high and low and lights turn with the steering direction. I’ve also noticed they adjust up and down depending if a smaller or larger car is in front of the truck and oncoming traffic

Adaptive Headlamps have been in the US on the Projector LEDs from the beginning.

What is being referenced as needing to be unlocked for US trucks in FORscan is GlareFree Headlights. This feature was not available in US trucks as it was illegal, but it did ship with Canadian (and other) trucks

GlareFree Headlights is the feature where it moves the lights out of the way of an oncoming car, but does not dim them from high. This feature is called Glare Free

Two different names for two different features.

Thanks for explaining that so they can understand it, I’m on mobile. I thought posting the video above would do it but I guess not.

As a Mac guy I am debating ordering a used PC laptop as well as the adaptor to give Forscan a try. I mainly want to turn on the glare free headlights. Any input of other options that are worth it? Is it that much of a difference with the glare free headlights turned on to make it worth the effort? TIA for any feedback.

It's worth it. Can you borrow a laptop?

It’s a good idea. I wasn’t sure if I would want a laptop incase I want to move settings back to original for a service appt. Is there any need to do that? Seems overkill, but what do I know.

I mean, I probably wouldnt worry about it. You are not doing anything that would void warranty.

It's definitely worth it. I love the Lincoln mirrors vs the Ford ones, the function is much more logical. Anti glare is great. I also like the additional text for the gauges on the dash.

Other input: get a windows like a man

Ha! That made me laugh:ROFLMAO:

Ok… I’ve ordered a windows virus book… I mean laptop… and the connector. I’m excited to give this a go!

Thanks for the suggestions!

I have made plenty of Forscan changes on my '17 and never reverted them back before taking it in to the dealer for service (it only goes there for warranty work, I do everything else myself), and not once have they mentioned anything.

Canadian 402A owner. I don’t see the glarefree lighting in my setting to toggle on/off. So does that mean I would need forscan to enable it?

Yes I would recommend you give it a try.

Ford removed it (stoped enabling it) on Job 2 Canadian trucks. The speculation is they expected to run out of some piece of hardware during the production cycle. So far everyone who has tried with a late model 2022 has been successful.

Talking about the adaptive head lights. With ForScan is there anyway to turn the sensitivity down? I just barely turn the steering wheel and the head lights swing to one side and turn the fog light on. It seems way too early and aggressive for my liking.

I can help you disable the fog corner light if you’d like. I’m not immediately aware of a way to adjust the steering sensitivity for the projectors though.

Just wanted to update and say that I did finally go through and do a few updates. @Robb1 is super helpful and answered a few of my newbie questions via DM.

First of all... I ended up installing windows software on my MacBook. Worked perfectly and makes it so that I can make future updates. I thought that I would need to buy software to do this, but luckily it's all on the MacBook and Windows 10 is a free download. I would be happy to help anyone do this if they have Mac's vs. PC's.

I did the Glare Free Beams and the Global Windows mods. Excited to try out Glare Free Beams. I did a quick drive around the neighborhood last night, but didn't realize you need to drive over 32mph to see them work! Also in a dark area without a lot of ambient lighting...

On the Global Windows, I found that it didn't work the first time and I was confused that maybe I did something wrong. On the modifications it says as an "option" to modify the APIM to have this as a setting to turn on and off. Well, from what I gathered, it's not an option. It didn't work until I changed the APIM. I guess that is so I could turn the option "on" as it was defaulted to "off."

Once you toggle the Glare-Free and it shows up in the main menu, can you simply toggle it off in main menu and it will automatically revert back to the Auto Low and Auto High beams like it was before or would you have to go back into Forscan and change all of the programming back to factory settings?

You can toggle it on and off. You can also just use your turn signal and turn the “auto” off and have regular high / low beams.
