Yup, I just don’t see what I would use it for in the truck besides turning on the porch lights, which honestly would be kinda cool. I did activate it just to see what it was all about though. Need a data plan, oh well.

I’m on wifi and in a good cell area. I’ve toggled auto updates off an back on. No dice for me yet… it’s tough seeing the flood of “I got the update” post everywhere.

I'm confused. It says I have 22230 product number for my software. So I'm guessing that's not the .3 you all are talking about. But I do have full screen CarPlay and Amazon Alexa. So am I up to date or not? Haha.

EDIT: Also, is it just me or is everyone else's iPhone's battery being drained from using wireless CarPlay while on the wireless charger even? My phone still loses power while on the charger.

the factory wireless charger is notorious for not working well. It doesn't seem to be cooled well enough, which reduces its charging capability. Wireless carplay also consumes battery pretty aggressively. i have a third party wireless charger( the '21's didnt get the wireless charging pad) that seems to keep up with charging the phone while using carplay.

Yes I'm really wishing the chip for the wireless charger was missing and not the chip for the heated steering wheel haha. Oh well.

I have a 22 and I still don’t use the wireless charger for the reasons stated, makes the phone too hot and doesn’t charge fast enough. I have an AnkerMagSafe, portable battery pack that I leave plugged in to the USB port, right there on the charging pad that way, it just charges the phone when I’m driving and then if I need to take the battery pack in somewhere I can

i got the 3d printed charging pad from Shawntexan products. it fits in the cubby nicely and basically replicates the factory charger location.
