Halolifts Coilover - Group Buy Info in First Post!

Is the Halo set up rebuildable? What is the time frame between rebuilds and what is the turn around time on a rebuild?
They are rebuildable. But Kevin would have to answer about time frame

Just got my kit installed yesterday but didn't have a chance to take any pics during the install. I will say the trickiest part was getting the stock shocks out since the studs on the bottom of the shocks make them like 3" longer. I also installed the SPC camber/caster kit which i'm sure the alignment guys will love.

Before lift - 23" hub to fender
After lift - 26" hub to fender with the factory coilover setting
Adjusted to minimum lift - 24 3/4"

I'll probably drive it for a few miles and see if it settles any more and then adjust it to stay around 1.75" to 2" of lift before getting an alignment

Awesome. Anxious for a ride report. I mean, I trust @Bannerman but a few data points are nice. 😉

Hello Fozzy,

Yes our products are rebuildable. Time frame is going to vary if there is a shop close to you or not. Elka is working really hard on getting shops here in the US Elka certified to rebuild their products. There is a few already. They are hoping to double that number by the end of the year.

Just got quoted 1400 to install the whole kit... or just 100 for an alignment if I do it my self. Looks like I have another project to knock out now lol. How big of a project am I looking at here? Also, are there any specialty tools I should get first?

I had a guy here in SLC rebuild my Icons a year or so ago. He just works out of his garage and has done a ton of Toyota stuff. He does Fox, King, and Icons so I don't see why he wouldn't be able to rebuild Elkas as long as he can get the parts.

I did mine in probably 4 hours. Little less than hour per side in the front, plus adjusting the collars down, and then the rears take no time at all. But I'd plan on more time if you are new to suspension work.

This was my first time doing a Ford suspension but it wasn't too bad. I've lifted more Toyota than I care to count... Things are the same in principle but each truck has it's own little things to make it different.

First side took me about 1.5 hours then the second took me an hour.

No special tools really. but you do need some different size wrenches/sockets that might not be part of your standard kits.
18mm deep socket
21mm deep socket
22mm deep and shallow sockets
27mm socket or wrench for LCA bolts
18mm wrench for UCA bolts

I followed this procedure

Hit me up if you have questions. The first side took a while but I blame at least two hours of that on the wrong ball joints.

The second side took about 1.5 hours. It’s not that bad after you figure out what to do. I did take the lower control arm bolts out at the frame and that made getting the old ones out pretty easy.

Thanks! Ended up not doing it today because my dealer finally got back to me about getting my body work done. Taking her in first thing in the morning. No idea how long it's going to take, but they will have to repaint at least the hood and one door. Might see if they'll cut me a good deal on installing it while they have it lol.

Installed w/ new rubbers and aligned.
Coilover set @ 2.25". I plan to log some miles, settle and adjust to 1.75". I'm not stoked on CV angles. Driveway is on an angle, sloping to rear.
Tires are 285/75/18, Toyo ATIII, 36psi.
SPC control arms and balljoints installed.

Ride is good. Better than stock. Planted and stable. Excited to adjust front and let settle.

Easiest way to adjust these is with two 5/16 punches, I got mine from harbor freight. The tool that comes with the halos works ok but it really scratches and bangs up the collar.
Thanks for the tip. Are y’all relieving front end of sprung weight to adjust or adjusting with vehicle weight, static on ground?

I always lift mine but you may not need to

It is easier if you lift it, but you can do it either way.
