Halolifts Coilover - Group Buy Info in First Post!

Anyone have any insight on the rear shocks alone? I recently took a 600mi round trip with a hitch bike rack, 4 mtn bikes, 3 sets of golf clubs, riding gear, regular luggage, and 4 adults. The back end felt even softer and left the front feeling floaty. Would these shocks help this issue? Trips like this are rare.

A quick read of 20+ pages here. 😉 lots of info.

Can't comment on rear shocks alone as I have the full kit. But I can confirm that the rear end feels very solid even with almost 4k on a trailer.

There is poke then there is POKE!

Just got my VIN and Build date assigned for my AGM 402a 10/24 (i'm sure that will push)
I've read so much on puck levels and halo kits. Can you guys help summarize for me and maybe some others..

Is the factory rake 3-4"? Do the level puck kits raise the front up to 2.5" then you drop the rear blocks an inch?
With this set up are the CV joints or anything else under stress? I want to do it right.

With the Halo kit does the shock itself raise the front, up to 3"?
Do you need to replace the factory rear shock?
What's the ideal set up to get a near perfect level?
Can 34s-35s (oem offset) fit without rub?
Do the new upper control arms fix the geometry and stress so premature wear is no longer an issue?

Thanks!

I wish I could answer this all in one summary but this group will give you more and better information than I do, here.

Lift and tires:
Budget up to $2,000 get one of the puck kits mentioned above and 285/75 r18 tires. Which tires you get will be important for fitment.

Budget up to $3,000 get the halolifts kit including the rear shocks (our OE rears are terrible) same guidance for tires as above.

Budget up to $5,000. You can do a lot of different things here but for the price difference, it may not be worth it.

Budget above $5,000. Get the 4 link mid kit for $17,000, have king or Icon build custom coilovers ($5,000+) and shocks based on your use case and come take me for a ride because I'll always want that but will never spend that type of money for recreational use.

If I was redoing everything now, I would go with the halolift kit, leave the block in for a 1-2" rake and get 285/75r18 tires on an ET 20-ET24 18x8.5 inch rim

I'll stick with 3k or so. Do these trucks look odd leveled with stock 33s? I was thinking 34's. Do the puck kits add extra stress on the joints? I don't do much offroading but I do want a better than average set up.

If your not doing much offroading then I would go auto springs 2" kit which is a puck kit that is offset lots of people have ran those if your wanting to save a bit of money, personally I never consider puck kits, but the Halolift kits are nice and cover both front and rear. If you do a puck, you will still want to do the rear shocks. Another option that people have been using is the rough country kit which does both front and rear. It's not much more than a puck kit with rear shocks.

For me it was more about the wear on the other components. Will a 2" puck level it out? Do you have to do anything to the blocks in the rear if so what size? I agree with you i'll still add the Halo rear shocks for a better ride.

The kit that levels it completely is the rough country kit it has the front coilovers and the rear blocks to lower the rear to make it level. If you went with the 2" puck it would leave between 1.5" and 2" of rake, which works out better if your towing or hauling stuff.

This is what I did. Works well so far.

I have the Halolifts with the rear shocks. I left in the stock block in the rear. I have a BedRug and RSI Smart Cap Adventure on my truck and my truck is sitting just about level with some adjustment still left on the front shocks. I am still running the stock wheels and tires.
