Halolifts Coilover - Group Buy Info in First Post!

Everyone has their own opinions. But 1.5" (collars spun almost all the way up on Halos) is right for me. Have you read my thread on CV angles?
Do you know if this fits? Thought I saw Kevin advertising it in stock last Fall… so I’m assuming it does.

They do have the 2.5" kit available!

I finally received my replacements direct from Elka. Myself and a couple other guys are experiencing noise coming from one side or the other after installing these. Mine is more pronounced when I turn right and go over uneven surfaces, sounds like a small clunk noise. Elka warrantied them so I'm going to have them swapped out Thursday. The new set I received has the silver eibach spring which they say is the on road version. 99% of my driving is in town or highway so I don't really see a problem running these I would imagine it's a little more plush/comfortable than the elka black offroad springs? Any one have experience with these?

I would think my current set up (6 threads showing) wouldn't translate directly over to this one.

No experience with those but typically on-road would be stiffer than offroad. Stiffer for better handling, at least thats the way the Tacoma's always were. The Sport shocks were valved stiffer than the Offroad shocks. I would ask them what the spring rate is of each one. The shock should be the same but I'd confirm that is the case.

Yes a bit contradicting to what he is saying, but I emailed him back to make absolutely sure. I will post his reply but for now this is his original response to my question on the different spring that showed up.
Side question: To swap out just the springs do the SPC UCA's need to be removed or is there enough room to maneuver them in and out?

That was quick. I believe i'll stick with the on road since that is pretty much all I drive. Any one know what the oem spring rates are, not sure if it's apples to apples since the shock is different.

CLUNKS are never good! After install please update on these, very curious as the ride compared to stock. I am interested in the halo's but want to make sure I all the kinks are worked out in the product I want. Good Luck with the install!

Well there you have it. The 600 pound spring rate will certainly be "softer", though again, that is not typically what people would want for OnRoad. And if you want to get the same ride height you will have to add preload which will change the spring rate somewhat. Should be fine. I'd probably have had them replace like for like but if you're happy with them in the end that's what matters. Glad they got your issue resolved.

@Bannerman great input on the halo's. How do you like the ride with the halo's over stock. Like you 99% on road driving.

Let's hope it resolves it. It's myself and at least 2 other guys on here experiencing the same thing. We've checked everything out, it all seems tight and in place and Elka sent me these without hesitation. Post install I'll report back.

My driver side is good so a true test would be to swap the coils and see if it follows but that's a lot of work. I'll install 2 fresh ones and report back. Do the SPC UCA's need to be undone to clear removing the coilovers?

I wouldn't think so, you should be able to swing them all the way up. But that kind of depends on what you do with your LCA/CV Axles.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by “control over rough terrain?” What kind of terrain?

The only time I feel out of control is when my suspension isn’t soaking up bumps and the truck wants to walk off the road…washboard roads for example. My 2020 TRD Pro Tundra was amazing at soaking things up and providing a smooth ride. The rear end on this Tremor will literally jar you sideways and into a ditch if you’re not 10-2 white knuckling. Lol. Front isn’t just a ton better.
This was me on AZ backroads I used fly down in my 4runner. I about $&@& myself at half the speed the first time I took my Tremor out when the backend took off sideways ....

I'm installing the replacement coilovers tomorrow, but I was thinking what if it's the SPC ball joints. It would be better to swap both at the same time to avoid more work if this doesn't solve it. Still seems odd that the shock would make a clunk when going over bumps. I emailed Kevin and Halo to inquire about a replacement ball joint as well.

Selfishly want you to do the coilovers first so we can determine if that’s the issue.

Hello all! First post on the forum, there is a ton of great info here. Thanks to everyone that has contributed, I’ve learned a lot before even taking delivery!

My Tremor is on the way, it’s built and in transit somewhere between Dearborn and Des Moines. One of the first mods has to be suspension. Test drove one before ordering and it was clear there that the stock shocks had a lot of room for improvement.

Looking to see if there is a good quality adjustable shock setup available. My interest in adjustable shocks is from having them on a couple cars, both street and track use. Nice to have the option to fine tune for personal preference.

My use will be primarily on road for towing a 5500# trailer, with some off roading but nothing too serious. I also want to lift the front end probably 1.5” to 2” so it’s pretty level when towing.

I saw these on the Elka site with high and low speed compression adjustment. Wondering if anyone has researched them to see if they might an option. Hopefully this post is okay for the topic. Maybe Halo Lifts will consider expanding their product line if this is a viable option for the Tremor.

I did check with Elka for compressed and extended lengths if it helps -

I’ll post better pics this week, but man, I’m happy. I’m sitting level at 41.5”, 8 turns from the preset. How are people judging CV angles? Wondering if I should lower it more..

Amazing product, amazing team at Halo, even got some quick help from Eve on Saturday. Super easy install for my buddy and I.

That exact thread is why I ordered 2" vs going with the 2.5" also talking with the Ford dealer they would only do 2" on the Tremor and stand behind it.
