Yeah that's a good point, off memory I believe my baja boss 295/70/18 are about the same size if not larger than KO2s "35s". It varies greatly per brand on the actual tire dimensions.
 
I hate trying to compare other internet impressions, too many unknown variables. But if we stick to @Cblaxx19's setup and Icon's site as saying 5.25 backspace on 18" wheel should fit with 34x12.5 tire, then something isn't right? His tire size is an inch narrower so should be clearing with 5.6 backspace stock wheels.
I sympathize here and appreciate early adopters for this reason. Maybe some clarity from Icon is needed if that's not what they're trying to convey should fit, or maybe understanding what tire they're basing the 12.5 section width on as it could be far narrower as @FaKtor34 suggests?

the facebook guy is running 35x12.5 r 18 wildpeak at3w's. according to those tire specs, its a 12.2" wide tire. my recon grapplers claim 11.26" width. so i am supposedly just shy of an inch skinnier than his tires. you would think that if he is "barely rubbing" at full lock, i should be good with an extra 1/2" of clearance than him.

i spoke with icon and they really didnt have much to say other than to adjust the ucas to extend the eye rods. which after i thought about it for a while didnt make sense to me since that pushes the top of the wheel outward, but then to bring back into alignment, you would pull the lower control arm out too which would tilt the top of the wheel back in. i ended up adjusting the front of the uca in and the back out. since the ball joint is biased to the back, this pulls the corner of the uca that is rubbing in, while ultimately pushing the wheel out. it gained me a little but not enough.

like i said previously, i think slightly more positive camber will fix my rubbing.

what is the back spacing of the oem wheels?

5.6" based on 7.5 width and +34 offset, so would think you just clear if you figure you gain about 0.5+ in on narrower tire width but lose 0.35 in on backspacing?

I'm pretty sure our wheels are less than 5" backspace. Maybe 4.8"?

Pretty sure our factory wheels are 7.5 wide with +34 offset. Google to find a backspace calculator of choice, and it'll give 5.59 for backspacing. I may be wrong on width in which case that changes backspace
 
I bought 17" method bead grips with basically oem backspace and was hoping to consider Icon without having to replace the wheels, so have been following @Cblaxx19 closely here. I have 35x11.5 tires and figured I should be good based on Icon site, but maybe not after all and may need new wheels.
If so, that will be skid plates AND wheels I was too excited to buy, and my wife will surely insist on a second level of approval prior to any more purchases. Talons skids for sale, but that's for another thread, LOL

Great question that mostly relies on how patient I can be. After dropping 4k on the suspension I'm a little gun shy of dropping another 3k+ on wheels/tires in the same month.
 
I wonder if SPC arms would clear the icon coilovers, or hit at full droop. I know Icons says requires their arms, even on listing for the coilovers only, but having to buy new wheels to fit the Icon arms may be more self-serving than required for proper operation.

I thought others have install this kit on stock wheels.. am I mistaking here?

Have they? That would be interesting I agree, but I don't have stock wheels so haven't been paying attn for that and Icon's site is a bit non-commital there.

Yes, but you need a wheel spacer afaik. @Cblaxx19 is on stock wheels.
