My preferred tire is the 305/70r18 but there aren't many that are suggested for our 7.5" wide wheels. I'll need to find a good wheel shop where I can try a few things out. If there is enough outside clearance at full lock, I'll go with a +25 offset to make up for that extra width while keeping the tires inboard.I do not have any tire rubbing.

Which 2.5" lift did you go with? Any chance you have a part number?
That front really bothers me. Maybe it's just the angle of the pic. This is from a FB Group Post. I think this looks great!
2” leveling kit and LT 285-75-18 tires. (34.8" tall tire).

Meaning you think that it needs more lift / less rake? That front really bothers me. Maybe it's just the angle of the pic.
I put a 2.5 leveling kit and grappler LT 295 79 R18 without any problems of tire rub. This is from a FB Group Post. I think this looks great!

the front of the front tire seems super close to the bumper when you think about what happens when that tire moves off road. "clearance is clearance until it's not"Meaning you think that it needs more lift / less rake?
agreed, I have only ran through fields/small dishes at slow speeds but I haven’t had any problems.the front of the front tire seems super close to the bumper when you think about what happens when that tire moves off road. "clearance is clearance until it's not"
Here’s a close-up pictureagreed, I have only ran through fields/small dishes at slow speeds but I haven’t had any problems.
I was told at tire shop, we looked at the 305’s first and did look good on the rubbing side, tire did. If I went with anything larger than a 295 then I would run into rubbing problems.
So far so good.
yup, still have that same feeling. Here’s a close-up picture
My k02s on my 2018 have served me very well, excellent tire. I didn't tow but did lots of off-roading and overlanding. So I just put a deposit down on a new camper trailer (2022 Lance 2185). Here are the specs on the camper (all estimates) for towing:
Dry weight: 4565
Tongue weight: 700 (will be using a weight distribution hitch)
GVWR: 6000
My 2021 Tremor 402A package has a payload of 1565, my current plan is level it and potentially new tires.
My ask (Yeti chime in please), are the stock Generals okay to tow with, or do I need to get a better load rating tire? If so, my preference would be go to 35's (stock rims) with the level, I really like the BFG KO2s, but I willing to look at other options. Please let me know if the 35's are a bad idea.
All opinions and recommendations please!
The stock tires are what I'll be towing with. They are SL but should be rated for the trucks 7000 pound gvwr. That trailer gvwr and tongue weight are easy mode for this truck and you could easily tow with larger tires. With a WD hitch set up properly, you may not have to do anything with the rear springs. Maybe just a timbren bump stop at mostSo I just put a deposit down on a new camper trailer (2022 Lance 2185). Here are the specs on the camper (all estimates) for towing:

So even after you level it, your plans are to stick to stock size or potentially go up to a 34?The stock tires are what I'll be towing with. That said, any e or better tire will always give me more confidence. I always have a dedicated off road set with a spare or two and a dedicated towing/normal use set.
When I replace my stock tires they'll be a 33 or 34 inch e rated AT.
For towing, yes. For off road, I'll have as close to 35s as possible. And from what Northen Goat said, 35s are good to go with a 2.5" levelSo even after you level it, your plans are to stick to stock size or potentially go up to a 34?
This is interesting because mine are E rated. Maybe I have to check again.Spent time on Tirerack and Discount tonight. In total, six OEM size tires with equivalent AT/snow ratings/diameter. The first being what we got. The sixth being what we should have received. Four in between.
Looking for a towing set. Leaning towards the Workhorse due to weight. I have had multiple sets of Duratracs and KO2s on my jeeps and love them in the dirt, but not so much on the highway (NOISE and Tire Walk).

Has anyone identified the weight of our OEM wheels? Trying to get a towing setup as light as possible. I have read on multiple threads/sites that the lariat 20s weigh 37-38 lbs a piece, and the previous gen 17" Raptor wheel weighs 32 lbs. With that info, I'd assume our wheels weigh 34-35 lbs, but hope to confirm.
If I go from 46 to 53lbs per tire, I'd like to find a aftermarket wheel in the sub 30lb range. Anyone found/running a wheel that light?
Other option is to mount the oem tires on aftermarket wheels for DD use, focus on bad-ass-ness. Then, mount the Workhorses on the OEM wheels for towing and only gain a couple pounds per corner. 18" Raptor take-offs are going for $2k in my neck of the woods, but I haven't found a weight, assuming very close if not identical to ours...so for $2k I feel like there are cooler options.
Thanks in advance for any feedback!
Do they say 116S on them? This is interesting because mine are E rated. Maybe I have to check again.
