Halolifts Coilover - Group Buy Info in First Post!

i absolutely love the halolift coilovers. i have over 10000 miles on them and are a very high quality coilover.i also used icon upper control arms.

Ordered.
I spoke with Kevin, he's very helpful. I'm getting mine shipped at a 3" height rather than the 2.5" height they normally ship. This is based on @DC8 feedback and talking with Kevin as I'm going with a 34.5" tire. Added the SPC caster/camber kit.
Appreciate everyone's feedback, I've only changed my mind on suspension components a half-dozen times. This seems to be a solid kit; shocks, coilovers and control arms with an August purchase price (10% off and free shipping) that's tough to beat.
Was the caster kit a must have? Did you also get the control arms?

I don't know that the caster kit is a must have, but given its relative low cost compared to everything else, it won't hurt and may help. Just didn't want to wish later that I had gotten it.
Yes, I did get the control arms.

The caster kit is more to set the alignment more reliably than to do more with it. In my opinion, if you're switching the rest out, it's a no-brainer. I'll be waiting until I add the uca to swap mine out

Hello All,

My name is Kevin and I'm with HaloLifts. I'm really new to forums so bear with me. I know some of you have some questions and some of you have already called or texted in!

Here is the new information as we measured wrong on the first go around and I apologize for that.
HaloLifts rear Aluma rear shocks.
29.75 fully extended
18.25 compressed
11.5 inches of travel

As posted above we are running a deal for you guys. You get 10% and free shipping to the lower 48 states.
Codes at checkout are
tremor10 and
augship.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I will try to respond as quickly as I can.

As mentioned above as well. There will be sometimes I won't be able to respond right away as I'm also a full time firefighter. So when I'm on shift it's harder for me to respond.

Thanks for everything!
Kevin
Order placed!
Funny not funny that I will get this kit before my truck....

Well shit - guess I'm heading back over to the Halolifts website...

Are you swapping the UCA, if not I really wouldn't worry about it, but if you are then like @Yeti said it's a no brainer.

Just curious, but for people who have already upgraded your front suspension, were you able to sell the stock parts? Wondering what I should ask for once I replace mine.

I'm keeping mine for a spare

Where did we land on the shorter rear shocks? Is that a problem? I don't want to damage a shock because it's stuffed or supporting the weight of the axle every time I go offroad....

Curious about this too. HaloLifts seems pretty adamant they’ll work and we don’t ‘need’ the same length as OEM and that their shocks will accommodate up to a 2-3/4” rear block. Of course, if these HaloLift rears do indeed work, that means others of the same / shorter length work as well.

The Halolifts rears are only 0.15" longer on the compressed length than the stock rears. So in theory to prevent shock damage you need a 0.15" spacer on the rear bump stops.

But that being said - I personally wouldn't worry about it unless I was planning on catching air on a regular basis - in which case you should have a Raptor anyway

Oh that's it? What about the extended length?

From Post #78 in this thread:

Stock
30.5" Extended (Tremor @static max articulation=29.5")
18.1" Compressed

So based on these measurements (assuming static articulation which is limited by spring travel) the Halolifts shock allows all the down travel the springs can provide and sacrifices 0.15" of uptravel

And you'd only need that 0.15" spacer IF the OEM shocks were spec'd out at EXACTLY the compressed length needed...which I doubt is the case. Who knows how much buffer / extra there really is.

Guess I'll give it a shot too....

I also would like to know as I don't want them cluttering up my garage.

I’ve seen a lot of discussion on rear shock travel and extended/compressed measurements. Do we have the same info on the front coil overs? I may have missed it in the pages and pages of suspension discussions but I don’t remember anything besides amount of lift gained.
