Thanks, that was very helpful. I wish he would've had it on a lift to see some install items/issues better. I'm wondering if the small plate that covers the drain plug is even necessary? Probably just an added safety measure for a Raptor as many will really be hard on the bottom of a Raptor off road.

Anyway, thanks a bunch for posting this.

The fact that for some reason it is now $140 for that little piece means I'm making my own....eventually...

Wow, that price is just stupid but, it is for a very expensive truck (Raptor) and likely, many owners expect to pay that kind of money. I once asked why a BMW's oil change was so expensive compared to my Subaru (same dealership) and the answer was basically that a owner of a 7 series almost expected to pay 4X the cost of my Subaru due to the original cost of the BMW flagship.

I didn't see a cutout for the engine skid to lap over the trans skid and how they showed it, could cause hangups on rocks, etc

So to be sure HL3Z-7222-F is the correct part number for a 2022 F150 Tremor to protect cats. Any other parts needed? Damn fools stealing right out parking garage at work.

No. F is the tiny oil drain cover. You need E.

I need 4 bolts and nuts???
With a eco boost you need 4 bolts, but only 2 nuts. 2 will already be there from the fiberboard cover mounts.

I ordered a ‘23 Tremor with V8. Do you think the raptor skid plate will fit 23 MY and will the oil access on the skid plate line up with 5.0?
By doing some research for the 5.0 guys is that the drain hole is useless as the 5.0 drain plug is in the middle rear of the pan... so for oil changes the pan needs to be removed or do a little modification by cutting an area to allow the oil to drain... also looking at the Raptor R drain plug is in the same spot as the Ecoboost.

Installed the skid plate yesterday but did not order the cover at the time I ordered the plate because of the higher price. It appears the price has come back down for the cover, it is 50.91 on Tasca Auto Parts.

Now that the prices seem to have come down, I’m looking to get the “oil door”. I’m having an issue as my Ford dealer is now showing the door for the HL3Z-7222-E as HL3Z-7222-B, which Robb1 said didn’t fit his cover. They show HL3Z-7222-F, which was the correct part number for the door a while back as some big cover for an expedition? Id order from Tasca which appears to show the correct part but the shipping is more than the part… anyone else run into this?

E is the skid plate, F is the cover (access panel). Shipping to Ohio was just under 13.00.

I need clarification as my dealer is giving different part numbers. Can someone please tell me what the part numbers are for the following nuts and bolts?

Nuts to hold on main skid plate (HL3Z-7222-E)

Bolts to hold on main skid plate (HL3Z-7222-E)

Nuts to hold on oil plate (HL3Z-7222-F)

Bolts to hold on oil plate (HL3Z-7222-F)

@schlotzj

Bolts for skid plate - W716831-S439 (4)
Nuts for skid plate - W719490-S439 (2)

Cover (Oil Plate) nuts and bolts:
-W500623-S439 (3)
-W520813-S439 (3)
